Off to Swaziland

Yesterday we spent the morning teaching pastors about World Vision's work of community development. Our focus is to help transform a community to be able to take care of and provide for themselves. In the afternoon we went on a tour of Soweto where we learned more about the revolution against Apartheid. We heard the story of 13 year old Hector Peterson who was shot and killed during a demonstration. A photo of his body being carried from the scene became one of the key images that symbolized the movement and inspired the leaders to press on for freedom. Today we travel to Swaziland where we will see World Vision's work first hand and get to meet Simelene, our sponsored child for the first time.
