Goat Project

World Vision launched this Goat Project with 154 goats and a lot of
training. It is run by a volunteer committee and serves around 400
households (3200 people). The goats are given or sold to provided for the
orphans and vulnerable children. One orphan received her goat and she now
has 19 more as she was trained on how to raise goats. She uses them for
food and sells them to receive money for school fees. World Vision believes
that this is far more self sustaining than just paying school fees as it
has developed and industry that will survive long after we are gone. They
currently have $3500 in the back to use for emergency situations that arise
among the orphans they serve.
